HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF TO HEALTH & WEIGHT LOSS

The $78 Billion dollar weight loss industry has kept you captive for a long time. It trained you to think that if you lose a few pounds, it’s thanks to its wonderful expertise, but if you gain those pounds back – it’s your fault.

And you believed the experts and the gurus, and went back for more, only to go back through the same cycle:

  • get your hopes up
  • restrict your diet
  • starve yourself
  • lose a few pounds
  • snap, because you cannot go on living like this
  • regain the weight you had lost and then some, and
  • loathe yourself for it.

What you create in the process is disordered eating. It does not have to mean anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating, although that happens often too. It can be the “garden-snake” variety disorder that everyone accepts because most adults in America diet and deal with it. The disorder that holds you captive in restrictive eating, and when you cannot take it anymore, pushes you to binge on all the foods you had to give up in the pursuit of a slimmer line.

In fact, restrictive dieting is the number ONE cause of disordered eating!

Yet, with all the effort you put into losing a few pounds to squeeze into your favorite jeans, there is a 98% failure rate within 2 years after losing weight. A 98% chance that you will regain the weight you lost and then some!

Even the strongest and the smartest of us fall prey to this madness! Look at Oprah’s relationship with her weight over the years, as an example.

But what happens, as a result, is devastating. You end up believing that YOU are broken. YOU are a failure. That YOU who can never be good enough or beautiful unless you fit into today’s definition of beauty.

Don’t get me wrong, I am all for a healthy weight! We MUST be in our best shape to live our best lives. That’s a true definition of self-love and self-care. However, NOT at the cost of losing SELF-LOVE and SELF-RESPECT!

And, certainly, not at the cost of setting up the next generation to struggle like we do or worse.
